Private Island Wedding
The ultimate romantic wedding destination
Say “YES” on your own private secluded island… Gabriel Island provides the perfect setting: removed enough to experience magical moments of intimacy with your family and friends, yet accessible by sea within less than one hour of easy cruising.
A spacious, beautifully decorated catamaran will take you to the island for either a beach or a chapel ceremony. Our outdoor, exquisitely furnished ocean-facing chapel can seat up to 40 guests and is truly one of a kind as it merges perfectly in its natural environment and makes for great wedding photos - you will want to call it your second home!
The island is 42 hectares in size and a Government-declared Nature Reserve dedicated to the preservation of many rare and endangered species. It is home to a large number of endemic plants and native birds, including the emblematic tropic bird. It is also known for its white sandy beach, crystal clear waters, a beautiful coral garden and spectacular coastal scenery. A beach-side massage centre is also on offer for your exclusive enjoyment.
We can organize your entire wedding event, or you can make your own arrangements and simply book the island for your wedding ceremony and reception.
Dolphin Watching & West Coast ExplorerFull-day cruise with lunch and refreshmentsIf you have ever dreamed of getting up close and personal with wild dolphins, don’t miss your opportunity! We set sails early from Grand Bay and head south towards Tamarin and its resident population of bottlenose and spinner dolphins. By the time we get there the dolphins – sometimes up to 200 of them – will be busy playing and splashing around and you may even get a chance to swim with them! Although the dolphins of Tamarin are certainly a highlight of this cruise, we very often come across whales and dolphins all along the west coast. This is a coastline of outstanding natural beauty, dotted with spectacular sea cliffs and historical sites. We will sail past the magnificent Albion Lighthouse, one of only two lighthouses that remain in operation (along with the one atop Flat Island). The Albion lighthouse was inaugurated in 1910 and still serves as a precious beacon to the incoming ships travelling to Port-Louis with its imposing height. After your wild encounter with dolphins, you will have plenty of opportunities to snorkel in crystal clear waters among countless colourful tropical fish while your crew will be busy preparing a sumptuous BBQ buffet. In the background, Le Morne Brabant, perhaps Mauritius’ most famous landmark, will provide great photo opportunities!
